Various Mediums!
This page offers all the information and Tips I have learned over my time working with art
Oil Pastels
Oil pastels have truly become one of my favorite mediums over the years. While many artists find them challenging and even them entirely, I've persevered and discovered how to work effectively with this medium. My go-to brand is Pentel, which is budget-friendly for beginners. Here are a few to you get started:

-
Lightly sketch your image with pencil before color.
-
Use a separate sheet of paper to test colors and blending techniques.
-
Always keep a paper handy for cleaning pastels after blending.
-
Block out lights and darks before blending for better results.
-
Try from dark to light, even though it’s not the usual recommendation- Use baby oil and a Q-tip to gently "erase" any mistakes.

Acrylic Paint
Acrylic paint is an excellent medium for beginners in art, offering a forgiving nature that makes it easy to work with. As you advance in your painting journey, you can explore additives that slow the drying time, allowing for more blending and detail. Additionally, mixing water with the paint can help achieve a thinner consistency, perfect for creating different effects. Embrace the versatility of acrylics as you develop your skills!

Oil Paint
Oil painting requires specific materials, such as mineral spirits for cleaning brushes instead of water. It's important to be cautious with your clothing, as the paint can easily stain. If you do get paint on yourself, using Dawn soap can help remove it. For your palette, consider using glass plates—one for paint and another for mixing. Remember that oil paints can take weeks to months to dry and may remain wet on the palette due to a drying layer on the surface. Trying oil paint allows you to connect with its rich history and the renowned artists who have used it.

Colored Pencils
Prisma colored pencils are a fantastic choice for artists looking to elevate their work beyond the basics. While Crayola may have been a beloved companion during childhood, Prisma's oilier texture allows for richer colors and exceptional blending capabilities. After using Prisma colors for years, I can confidently recommend them to anyone serious about their artistry. Embrace the vibrancy and that Prisma brings to your creative journey!

Watercolors
Watercolors are a transparent, versatile medium that uses water to dilute pigments, creating soft, flowing colors. Applied on special watercolor paper, they can produce delicate washes or vibrant imagery, depending on water usage. While quick-drying and great for layering, watercolors can be tricky to control, as excessive water can cause colors to bleed, become muddy, or create inconsistent lines. Despite these challenges, watercolors are ideal for landscapes, illustrations, and fine art, offering a light, airy quality.

Clay
When working with clay, it's essential to keep a few key techniques in mind. Always ensure that there no air bubbles trapped inside your pottery, as these can cause explosions in the kiln. Maintaining wet hands while sculpting helps to prevent the clay from drying out too quickly. Additionally, when joining two pieces, remember to scour the edges and use a diluted clay slip to create a strong bond between them. Happy sculpting!
